Dr. Hoang's Chiropractic Clinic Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well

Your Montreal chiropractor understands your spine! Dr. Hoang's Chiropractic Clinic knows anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor learned a lot about anatomy of the spine and applies that knowledge daily. Knowing the anatomy of the spine is continually at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient walks through the door! It is so exciting! (Aren’t you delighted someone finds it exciting?)

LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL

When we were in school, we were all guilty of learning just to pass a test. Going to professional school, such learning is more important than ever since it will affect everyday work. (How much do you remember from your school days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists found that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy teaching during chiropractic education was advantageous for clinical practice, allowing better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical information to support a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian study of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners rated their knowledge of anatomy and proved it in a test showing their knowledge. This was compared to the equivalent in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors showed that they kept their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – breaking the thought that chiropractic practitioners may not keep it after a period of time. Knowledge of anatomy is used daily in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors understand their anatomy. (2) Your Montreal chiropractor does! We’ll be happy to talk about it!

SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Performing spinal manipulation every day uses knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most ordinary reasons people said they sought chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The most common treatment they experienced were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions get a lot of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But fortunate side effects of chiropractic care emerge in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers described the immediate effects of manual therapy to the upper thoracic spine on cardiovascular autonomic control of musculoskeletal pain patients (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers stated that musculoskeletal pain intensified the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come experience these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on spinal anatomy knowledge.
